USDA Rural Development Program
             
TARGET USER: Small to medium-sized businesses and industries for start up or expansion of existing projects up to $10,000,000.  Preference is given to projects that improve employment and economic conditions in rural communities and towns with a population of less than 50,000.
             
LOAN TYPES: Loans may be made up to 30 years on land, buildings, and permanent fixtures; up to 15 years on machinery and equipment; and up to seven years for working capital.  Rates can be fixed.
ADVANTAGES: Source of large start up or expansion capital for companies that may not fit into traditional lending guidelines.
WHO’S NOT ELIGIBLE: Churches, golf courses, race tracks, gambling establishments, agricultural production.
