EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION
Manatee County is one of the fastest growing regions in the nation. The population grew over 14% from 264,002 in 2000 to 300,815 in 2005.*
Growth is expected to continue with the projected population reaching 329,004 in 2009.
With excellent highways, 17% of Florida’s population is within 50 miles of Manatee County.*
Employment is expected to increase 5.5% over the next five years.*  Employeed workers in the census tracts that include the Manatee Riverwalk District are employed in the following industries:
